Endoscopies involve introducing a camera into the patient for diagnostic or exploratory purposes. Gastroscopies are endoscopies done by way of the patient’s mouth, and into the esophagus, stomach, and upper portion of the intestines. The procedure can be done under local anesthesia or general sedation.
