SPIDER Demonstration in Paris, France
Dr. Gagner performed the first SPIDER Mini-Gastric Bypass this week with the help of Dr. Jean-Marc Chevalier at the Centre Européen George Pompidou in Paris, France!

For those of you who aren't familiar with the SPIDER system, it's a new type of laparoscopic instrument that allows multiple instruments to use a single entry point or trocar. And it looks like this:
Dr. Gagner has been working with the company behind the SPIDER, TransEnterix, to develop this new instrument. The right and left instruments are flexible and allow the instruments to move, offering a very exciting new method of performing laparoscopic surgery.
