Anal/rectal bleeding


Bleeding from the anus or rectum is a symptom of many different anorectal pathologies. These include hemorrhoids, anal fissures, anal fistulas, ulcers, colorectal cancers, Crohn’s disease, and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

You will most likely notice rectal bleeding after passing stool on toilet paper or in the water of the toilet bowl. If you are experiencing rectal bleeding, it may be a symptom of a serious medical condition. In such instances, it is important you consult your doctor.
